15and let him that is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out his house:
16and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.
17But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days!
18And pray ye that it be not in the winter.
19For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be.
20And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect`s sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days.

“But woe to them that are with child, etc..] Who because of their burdens, would be very unfit for, and very incapable of fleeing with any haste; and therefore very liable to fall into the hands of the enemy, and become their prey: and to them that give suck in those days; who could not bear to leave their children behind, and yet would not be able to carry them with them; at least not without great trouble, and which would much retard their flight, and endanger their being taken by the enemy; (see Gill on “<402419>Matthew 24:19”).”
