10:13 This affirmation struck at the essence of Baal, the Canaanite god of storm and fertility. The Canaanites believed that Baal actually was the thunder and the rain, but the Lord claimed them as his creations (Ps 135:5-7) through which he can speak and even roar (Job 37:2-5).
