4:15 The Galatians had been joyful and grateful in response to Paul’s preaching of the Good News. • your own eyes: Some conclude from this phrase that Paul’s eyes were diseased, but Paul might have been using eyes as a word-picture of a precious asset (cp. Deut 32:10; Ps 17:8; Matt 18:9). In their gratitude to Paul for the message of good news, the Galatians would have . . . given him their most valuable possession.
