“Which was the son of Mathusala, etc.] The same with Methuselah; and so he is called by the Septuagint in (<010525>Genesis 5:25-27) which was the son of Enoch, (<010521>Genesis 5:21,22) which was the son of Jared (<010518>Genesis 5:18,19), which was the son of Maleleel; the same with Mahalaleel; who is also so called by the seventy interpreters, in (<010515>Genesis 5:15,16) as here; which was the son of Cainan, (<010512>Genesis 5:12,13).”
