“22:14 As with many patriarchal narratives, the heart of the matter is retained through commemorative naming. Yahweh-Yireh . . . means “the Lord will provide” (see 22:8). That Abraham used the holy name in this act shows that the patriarchs knew the name Yahweh (cp.
