1:2 Colosse was situated in the Lycus River valley in western Asia Minor, about 120 miles (193 kilometers) east of Ephesus and 10 miles (16 kilometers) southeast of Laodicea. Its location on an important Roman road meant that it was influenced by the social and religious currents of the time. • brothers and sisters: Greek adelphoi, a generic term commonly used to refer to members of the same family, both male and female.
