Hence this must be understood of the spiritual David, Jesus Christ, both the king and High Priest of his church, "the Israel of God," ( Gal 6:16), in whom the covenant of royalty with David and his seed, and that of priesthood with Aaron and his seed, have received their full accomplishment; and all the sacrifices of that dispensation were superseded by his "one oblation of himself," the efficacy of which remains forever Isa 9:6, Isa 9:7; Dan 7:14; Luk 1:32, Luk 1:33 and with: Jer 33:18; Rev 5:10 Jeremiah 33:22
