Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord that he hath taken against Babylon, etc.] The same is said in (<244920>Jeremiah 49:20); only, instead of Edom, Babylon is here put, and in the next clause: and his purposes that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans; instead of the inhabitants of Teman, the land of the Chaldeans: surely the least of the flock shall draw them out; the weakest and most feeble in the army of Cyrus should be more than a match for any in Babylon, and should draw them out, and devour them, as dogs and wolves the sheep out of the flock: surely he shall make [their] habitation desolate with them; (see Gill on “<244920>Jeremiah 49:20”).
