And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, etc.] Though he would, and did attempt to do it, (<245208>Jeremiah 52:8,9); but shall surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; he was taken on the plains of Jericho, and delivered into the hands of the king of Babylon at Riblah; as may be seen in the place just referred to: and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon; and that was all; for they were quickly put out by him: and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon; (see <243203>Jeremiah 32:3 52:9,11).
