And the table, and all his vessels, etc.] The shewbread table, with all things appertaining to it, rings, staves, dishes, spoons, bowls, etc. all were anointed; which had respect to Christ, and the communion of his people with him, feeding on him, that food which endures for ever, whom God the Father has sealed and sanctified: and the candlestick and his vessels; an emblem of the church, and of the light of the word held forth in it, which being accompanied with the grace of the Spirit of God, is the savour of life unto life: and the altar of incense; on which the odours, the prayers of the saints, come up before God through the mediation of Christ.
